This is my web banner project for Technology, and it’s an advertisement for Nike Basketball to make consumers buy their products. Basically, the meaning of this advertisement is that, nothing is perfect in this world and you have to put each puzzle together one by one (which means that practice more and more until you are satisfied), by completing the puzzle meaning that you have achieved your goal. Just like most basketball players need to practice everyday to win games in NBA. In the banner, it tells you that nothing is perfect, but it’s in you to make it perfect, which is kind of related to Nike’s other advertisement such as “Just Do It” or “Make It Perfect”. The 9 small pictures each represent something, the first one is a famous basketball player Vince Carter who’s sponsored by Nike Basketball, the second picture is a broken net which means practice until the net breaks. The three pictures in the middle all says “15”, because that’s the number of Vince Carter when he plays for Toronto Raptors, and they are all different motions of Vince Carter playing basketball. The next three pictures which says “The Time Is Now”, meaning that you should start now. The Last picture is “hoop” which is a ghetto word Nike uses to describe basketball players and basketball related.
